Into the Dark Mirror
Location: Diplomatic Suite
"This is..." Commander Serena Rush paced a little lost for words at what news had filtered down. They'd been dragged into a mirror universe by the ISS Dragon and currently with no way home again.
"We've been through some crazy things, but this!" She turned to her partner Seth Travis. "This just takes the biscuit."
Seth had been sitting on the couch when the word came down about being trapped in the mirror universe. Now he got up and walked over to Serena, stopping in front of her and wrapping his arms around her. "I agree Serena, but we've been through other difficult times before now and we'll get through this. Though I have to admit I'd never thought we would end up in the mirror universe." He smiled at her, "Really does take the biscuit."
The former counsellor pouted slightly at her finance's comment: "Trust you to make light of it." She played. "I was being serious, everything we knew, all the allies we had - gone! We're alone out here unless Commander Barnes still some connections we're... stuck."
Seth rubbed Serena's shoulders gently. "I'm sorry Serena. I wasn't making light of it. I was agreeing with you and you're right at least for the time being we're stuck and for who knows how long." he looked at her, "The question now is how do we remedy that? We can't count on Commander Barnes connections helping us. So that means we have to help ourselves and make allies. Which will be admittedly difficult."
"I hope that Captain come back with something helpful," she sighed. "Shooting the dark could be disastrous."
Seth nodded at Serena's words. "Even if the Captain does have something helpful we're still trapped here. Cut off from all we know. There is no cavalry coming over the horizon. We're on our own. We have to find and make allies while avoiding the Terran Empire. I have a very strong feeling that you and I are going to be very busy."
"Very," Serena lent forward tucking herself under Seth's chin. "I'm so glad we don't have to face this alone."
Seth tilted his head to look at Serena. "Me too Serena. Me too. However and this may sound mushy but it's true. As long as we have each other we're not alone." He continued to hold her close, "We'll get through this and back to our universe just may take some time."
"Hmm," she agreed holding him close. "I'm glad we're here together too, I don't know what I'd do if you weren't here."
Seth was silent for a moment as he looked at Serena. He could handle and cope with anything as long as he knew Serena was with him. It made it even sweeter that her mobility had been restored. Finally he spoke as he bent forward and kissed her softly. "You took the words right out of my mouth Serena. Now, what do we know about the mirror universe? As I think we're going to need all the information we have to make allies here."
Rush nodded and loosened her grip around him. "We'd better start educating ourselves on what is on file. It's not an area I've heavily researched before now."
Seth leaned back while still maintaining his hold on Serena, "Agreed Serena. We need to get up to speed as quickly as possible on just what the political climate is here and where we can find potential allies."
She nodded again: "Let's begin, shall we?"
He smiled at her, "Absolutely we shall. We have our work cut out for us and there's no time like the present."
